Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is a hindui festival and in Bengali, it is called রাখী বন্ধন. This festival is also known as Rakhi Purnima. This is very popular festival in Indian and many places of India, the program held. This festival occurs between brothers and sister to show love and duty. They think by this festival the relation between brother and sister become stronger. Some men and women who are not actual brother and sister but they want to make relation as brother and sister do perform this festival. In this festival, the sister does a Puja and tie a ralkhi on her brother’s wrist. This is a symbol of love from sister. After wearing the ralkhi, the brother gives a gift or some amount of money to the sister.
This celebration mainly occurs in India and some part of Nepal. In some places in India, the festival does not occur or not chosen seriously. The program does celebrate in Pakistan and in many countries where Hindu people live. This festival also occurs between cousin brothers and sisters. This festival occurs based on the Hindu calendar month of Sravana. Usually, this program falls in August in every year. In some places, people do aarti and puja before the festival starts.
