Maha Shivaratri

Maha Shivaratri is one of the biggest festivals of Hindu religion. This festival is celebrated annually in by admiration of the Shiva which is the idol of Hindu religion. In this day, Hindu people worship the idol of Shiva. They think that Shiva will be pleased to see the celebration. For the Maha Shivaratri, Hindu people worship the idol and keep fasting. They make some special food for the day for breaking the fast. Different times Maha Shivaratri is celebrated according to English calendar. Because Maha Shivaratri is followed by the Hindu calendar. This festival occurs at the day time.
At the night of Maha Shivaratri is called jaagaran and in the night Hindu people do worship. Their belief that Shiva saves the world and the whole Universe from the darkness. The world will be enlightened when ignorance escapes by the power of Shiva. It is believed that Shiva married parvati in the Maha Shivaratri. Acco0rding the Hindu calender, it is celebrated in the month of Falgun.
The festival is mainly celebrated in India and Nepal. Most of the people pass the time by the worship in the day. They believe that they get special power and energy by the worship.
